LEARN MORE

Temporary traffic lights have been installed after a small sink hole appeared on a Newark street.

The sink hole is near to the pedestrian crossing on Sherwood Avenue at the Baldertongate junction.

The lights are at the junction and will remain overnight, said Nottinghamshire County Council's highways duty officer.

Anni Keene saw the sink hole and said: "Two council workers told me the hole is roughly half a metre deep and about 2sq m in diameter inside beneath the tarmac."
